This project, developed in partnership with Kacie Comly, proposes a solution to two urban problems in New York City, overcrowded schools and abandoned construction sites, by temporarily taking over partially built abandoned construction projects for nearby schools that need more space. The project involves a system of deployable components that clad and seal off the interior of these buildings and provide built-in desks, seating, lighting, and storage. This enables a school to add extra classrooms quickly and incrementally and have many of the basics classroom needs supplied.
